VILLA DEL SOL is surrounded by scenic beauty. The Martinez Regional Shoreline is a popular example with hundreds of acres of open space, including miles of trails with wonderful hiking and bicycling vistas.

John Muir National Historic Site is the actual home of the founder of the Sierra Club and father of the National Park Service. The park offers nature walks among 9 acres of fruit orchards, plus 326 acres of woodlands on Mt. Wanda.

Martinez additionally has 16 community parks with recreational opportunities for all ages. The Waterfront Park, Martinez Marina, and 10,000 sq. ft. skate park are some of the highlights. You'll also discover fun or relaxation at ball fields, tennis courts, picnic areas, and even world class bocce ball courts. Just three blocks from VILLA DEL SOL is the Martinez Community Swimming Pool... with lap pool, diving tank and kiddie pool.
